To Whom it May Concern,

For twenty years, my mother served as the primary caregiver for my grandmother, affectionately known as 'Babe.' In her final years, the Litchfield Adult Day Center became a cornerstone of support for our family. My grandmother affectionately referred to her time at the Center as 'going to school' and eagerly anticipated her morning transport. Before attending the center, she struggled with nutrition and isolation at home. However, at Litchfield Adult Day Center, she thrived—consistently enjoying meals with peers, engaging in arts and crafts that proudly decorated our home, and participating in community outings. Holding baby chicks during a center trip was a defining highlight of her final years, an invaluable memory memorialized on the center's photo wall.

Living in a remote, rural area, a routine grocery trip requires a round-trip commute of more than an hour. The reliable, trusted respite provided by the staff at the Center allowed my mother the essential time needed to manage household logistics and prevent caregiver burnout. Even three years after my grandmother's passing, community members still share fond memories of her, a testament to the deep social connections fostered by the center. Even in her final days, despite severe mobility challenges, she still woke up asking to attend 'school.' Litchfield Adult Day Center does not simply provide senior care; they foster an outstanding, inclusive community that treats families like their own and provides essential, life-changing relief to rural caregivers.
